A Smart home automation startup based in U.K called Den has raised £1.9M for 19.93% equity. Den looked for £1M as its initial investment. The startup's pre-cash valuation is £8M.

Light switches and plug sockets have been around for more than 100 years and have scarcely changed since. They are to a great degree dated. Den is reinventing the light switch and plug socket, and aims to wipe out the current standard of switches around the globe.

The main products of the startup are light switches, plug sockets, dimmer switches, remote, motion sensor, extension lead, a hub that wirelessly connects everything from Den and It is led by Yasser Khattak, founder & CEO of Den. Rob Parker and Omer Kilic is the CFO and CTO respectively, Ivan Iacono Firmware Engineer and Mijin Cho as Software Engineer.

One great thing about the motion sensors is that it automatically turns on the lights when users walk (or tiptoe) past them.

One of the significant rivals of Den is LightwaveRF. There has been an increase in crowdfunded smart home products, for example Kancy, a WiFi-empowered smart switch and Turn Torch, a smart home control that permits someone to remotely control lights thermostat, and alarms.
